Elementary Insurance Claims

Our Car and Home Insurance Claims Department has a large team, experienced in handling these types of claims:

Handling Car Insurance Claims:

  • Upon receipt of notification of an accident at our office, the claims settlement team will notify you of the receipt of the claim, its number, and courses of action available to you to continue processing the claim.
  • We will refer you to a garage of your choice or to one of the insurance companies’ listed garages.
  • Please note that when repairing a vehicle at a garage not included in the agreed insurance company agreement list, you should pay with a 60-day deferred check. 
  • When a third-party vehicle belonging to a leasing company is involved, claim processing may extend to six months, as most leasing companies are self-insured.
  • In a claim against a third-party insurer, if you are not responsible for the accident, please pay the garage and appraiser with a 90-day deferred check. 
  • In a claim against the insurance company that insures your vehicle, we will follow up on the receipt of the vehicle repair invoice, which will be forwarded to the appraiser until the payment is made within 30 days from transferring all relevant documents to the insurance company.

In a claim for damage to the insured vehicle – a comprehensive insurance policy is required

Repairing the vehicle at an approved garage:

  • Transfer the completed and signed claim form, together with photocopies of the driver’s license and vehicle license, to the claims department at “Betach Toren.”
  • Update the relevant representative at “Betach Toren” claims department with the garage details so that an appraiser will be summoned to inspect the vehicle.
  • Once the repair is done, update the claims department representative and pay the deductible amount.
  • A detailed appraiser’s report will be forwarded to the insured (in the event of depreciation, the insured will also receive compensation).

Repairing the vehicle in a non-approved garage:

  • Transfer the completed and signed claim form, together with photocopies of the driver’s license and vehicle license, to the claims department at “Betach Toren.”
  • Update the relevant representative at “Betach Toren” claims department with the garage details so that an appraiser will be summoned to inspect the vehicle.
  • Once the repair is done, give the garage a 60-day deferred check, update the claims department representative, and transfer the repair invoice to the appraiser. You can also ask the garage to send the invoice to the appraiser.
  • The appraiser’s report will be forwarded to the insurance company. Payment will be sent to the insured within approximately 30 days, offsetting the deductible.
  • If the appraiser decides upon a value depreciation, the compensation to the insured will offset the deductible.

Third-party Claims:

  • Transfer the completed and signed claim form, together with photocopies of the driver’s license and vehicle license, to the claims department at “Betach Toren.”
  • Update the relevant representative at “Betach Toren” claims department with the garage details so that an appraiser will be summoned to inspect the vehicle.
  • Once the repair is completed, give the garage a 90-day deferred check covering the garage and appraiser costs.
  • The appraiser’s report will be forwarded to the handling entity, to submit the claim to the offender’s insurance company.  (The claim will include – the value of the damage, the appraiser’s fees and depreciation, if any).

Claim in the Event of a Car Theft:

  • In the event of a car theft, this must be reported urgently to “Betach Toren” claims department.
  • A notice of claim form and a police report must be forwarded to “Betach Toren.” The insurance company will forward a list of documents required to process the claim. The insured must forward all relevant documents as quickly as possible to the claim handler at the agency.
  • Sometimes the insurance company will appoint an investigator who will contact the insured to investigate the case.
  • The insurance company will transfer payment to the insured within approximately 30 days from the date all required documents and the investigator’s report have been submitted.

Lawsuit

If a lawsuit is filed against the insured, all received documents must be forwarded to “Betach Toren” claims department, including date of receipt. The person who handles your claim will transfer the documents to the legal department of the insurance company, who in turn will act to offer legal representation to the insured insofar as such coverage exists in the policy.

The person handling the claim at the agency will inform the insured of the lawyer appointed by the insurance company to represent them.

General Comments

  • In the event of a VAT offset (two-thirds), a certificate must be forwarded to the person handling the claim at “Betach Toren” so that the additional third can be claimed from the insurance company.
  • Replacement vehicle – in a claim filed under a Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance Policy or a Third-party Claim, a replacement vehicle will be provided to the insured (if such coverage exists) according to the policy terms and following the appraiser’s decision. At approved garages, a replacement vehicle will be provided starting from the date the insured vehicle was brought into the garage.

Handling Home Insurance Claims (Structure and Contents):

We will forward your notification of the damage, together with the appropriate completed form, to the insurance company. At the same time, we will appoint an appraiser, according to the terms of your policy.

We will closely monitor the insurance company’s claim management process and share each phase of its progress with you. In case of water damage, when the policy stipulates an external service provider, we will work vis-a-vis the service provider to expedite the processing of your claim until its successful conclusion and closure.

In case of water damage – when the service provider is listed in the policy (agreement provider), you must call the service provider listed in the policy.
