International Travel Insurance Claims

Important information for filing a claim in case of an insurance event abroad:

Dear insured,

These instructions list the most prevalent events in which documents must be produced when filing a claim. We would like to draw your attention to these documents while staying abroad.

You can fill out the claim form using a convenient and simple digital interface and attach the following documents:

Medical claims

Medical expenses during hospitalization

It is mandatory to notify the insurance company before arriving at the hospital.

Medical expenses other than hospitalization:

You can use the App to find a doctor near you.

  1. A medical report from the attending physician abroad detailing the reason for the referral and the diagnosis.
  2. Receipts for the payment of medical expenses (for example, a doctor’s appointment, medicines, etc.)

Payment to the doctor – the insurance company must be reported, so it can charge the Clal Pay card.

Shortening your stay abroad

In case the insured is forced to predate the return to Israel due to a medical event – confirmation is required from the attending physician abroad.

pertaining to the reason for the interrupted trip and early return to Israel.

Photocopy of flight tickets

Receipts or invoices

Confirmation from the airline regarding the cancellation fees incurred.

In case of death: A death certificate including cause of death and full summary of illness.

Extending your stay abroad

In case the insured is forced to delay the return to Israel due to a medical event – confirmation from the attending physician abroad is required.

pertaining to the reason for delaying the return to Israel, including receipts for the additional expenses incurred due to such delayed return.

Luggage Claims – Delayed arrival of luggage:

  1. Confirmation by the airline that a report was issued regarding the incident, including the list of items as provided to the carrier.

Cargo Loss/Theft:

  1. Foreign Police report from the place and date of the incident and details of the stolen items: Item, model and date of the incident.
  2. In the case of Carrier Liability (airline/shipping company, etc.) – the carrier’s confirmation that an incident report was indeed issued, including the list of items as provided to the carrier. In case the carrier is an airline, a PIR form must also be produced.
  3. In case of loss/theft of a mobile phone – in addition to the above certificates, one must produce a certificate issued by the (Israeli) cellular operator, attesting to the discontinuation of the phone number.
  4. Purchase receipts, provided that 12 months have not passed since the item was purchased.
