Handling accidents or damages on Saturdays and holidays

On Fridays, Saturdays and holidays, when our offices are closed, or outside business hours, you may act in any of the ways mentioned below. Upon our return to wok, and receipt of your notification about the event, we will handle the insurance claims for you.

In the event of damage to the vehicle, you are entitled to contact one of the garages from the Insurance Company Agreement List (* in accordance with the terms of the purchased policy ). If you choose to repair your vehicle in a garage that is not under the Company’s Agreement List  , you must inform us beforehand. When repairing at a garage that is not in the agreement list, the payment for the cost of the parts shall be calculated by their cost at the insurance company according to its agreement with its suppliers. The aforementioned may lead to insurance benefits being reduced due to the difference in the cost of spare parts.

In the event of a car accident where your vehicle is damaged, you can tow the damaged vehicle to storage at the towing company. Upon resuming business hours, please inform us by phone about the accident, and our claims team will furnish further instructions.

Before evacuating the vehicle, you must ensure that you have all the following details, which must be obtained at the scene of the accident:

  • License plate numbers of all vehicles involved in the accident – a photocopy of driver’s license/s and a photo of the license plate/s would be preferable
  • Details of the insurance company of all the vehicles involved in the accident – it would be best  to take a photo of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Certificate
  • Details of all the drivers involved in the accident, such as: Address, phone number, social security number.
  • Take clear pictures of all damages caused to all the vehicles involved in the accident.
  • Only if bodily harm was also caused in the accident, the police must be called to the scene, and a police certificate must be obtained.

Please note that the telephone numbers listed here are for the national centers of the service providers. The identity of the provider is listed for you in the insurance policy, but if you cannot find it or are not sure, you can call any of them, and by presenting an I.D. number, they will know how to direct you to the hotline of your insurance company:

You can choose a garage from your Insurance Company Agreement List, according to the geographical area that suits you. Once the vehicle is sorted, you must leave a check for the deductible amount as stated in the policy.

You can also perform the repair at a garage that does not included in the Insurance Company Agreement List, but at the end of the repair, you must leave a 60-day deferred check at the garage for the full amount of the repair.

In any case, you must contact us upon our return to work, in order to receive particular instructions regarding the continuation of processing the claim.

Car breakdown or car not starting:

For inspection, or troubleshooting, or towing the vehicle to a garage, call SHAGRIR or MEMSI.  The identity of the provider is listed for you in the insurance policy, but if you cannot find it , you can call any of them, and by presenting an I.D. number, they will know how to direct you to the hotline of your insurance company:

Car theft:

You should contact the police to file a complaint about the theft of the vehicle.

During our business ours, the insurance claim must be submitted through us along with the police confirmation of filing a car theft complaint.

The identity of the supplier is listed for you in the service letter attached to the insurance policy. If you do not have the policy, you can contact one of the above service providers, and upon resuming business hours, contact us to report the incident, and we will make the necessary adjustments to your policy.

Water damage in the apartment:

Contact the service provider according to the policy you hold. On the first page of the list, under the title: “Water damage insurance – repair through a service provider”

Only if the policy you have allows you to contact a private plumber, you may contact a private plumber to perform immediate emergency repairs. You must keep the receipt given to you at the end of the work. During our business hours, you must contact the claims department in order to handle the claim (sometimes also by sending an appraiser). The insurance claim must be submitted through us together with all the references you have about any emergency repairs you performed while our offices were closed. Furthermore, make sure you take photos of the damage, to present them as part of the insurance claim that will be submitted through us, of course.

Home burglary or fire:

Contact the police to file a complaint about a burglary, or the fire department in the event of a fire, and keep the documentation you receive from these bodies (confirmation of filing a complaint or fire extinguishing confirmation)

Take pictures of the damage and keep any invoices or receipts you receive for immediate emergency repairs that you had to perform, like in the case of a break-in – changing locks.

When our offices re-open, send us the report on the event together with all the documents and photographs, and we will handle the insurance claim vs. the insurance company.

Get as much of the required information as you can

And contact us as soon as our offices re-open, to report the incident, and continue processing your insurance claim
